Sammy was the only visible person who supported the Church of Satan.
The Church of Satan, founded by Anton LaVey, has not traditionally focused on achieving significant political strength in the conventional sense. Here’s why:
- Individualism and Autonomy: LaVeyan Satanism emphasizes individual autonomy and self-indulgence. Political activism, with its inherent compromises and group dynamics, can sometimes conflict with these core principles.
- Focus on Personal Liberation: The Church of Satan primarily focuses on personal liberation and the pursuit of individual pleasure and fulfillment.
- Political Neutrality: While individual members may hold various political views, the Church of Satan itself does not endorse any specific political party or ideology.
However, the Church of Satan has achieved some notable successes in the realm of religious freedom and civil liberties:
- Legal Recognition: The Church of Satan has successfully fought for legal recognition as a religion, ensuring its members have the same rights and protections as followers of other faiths.
- Separation of Church and State: The Church of Satan has been a vocal advocate for the separation of church and state, opposing the intrusion of religious beliefs into government policy.
- Challenging Religious Discrimination: The Church of Satan has challenged instances of religious discrimination and advocated for the rights of individuals to practice their beliefs without interference.
Michael Aquino
Lieutenant Colonel Aquino was an American political scientist, military officer, and a high-ranking member of Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan. He founded the Temple of Set.
- Setianism: Their religion centers around the Egyptian god Set, who they view as a symbol of rebellion, individuality, and the exploration of the unknown.
- Emphasis on Individuality: The Temple of Set strongly emphasizes individual autonomy and the pursuit of personal power and enlightenment.
- Occult Practices: They incorporate elements of ancient Egyptian mythology, Western esotericism, and various occult practices into their beliefs and rituals.
Distinction from Church of Satan: While it originated as a breakaway group from the Church of Satan, the Temple of Set has developed its own distinct theology and practices.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, Set was a complex and multifaceted deity.
- God of Chaos and Storms: He was often associated with chaos, storms, deserts, and foreign lands.
- Powerful and Feared: Set was a powerful god, sometimes depicted as a fierce and terrifying figure.
- Brother of Osiris: He was the brother of Osiris, the god of the underworld, and their conflict is a central theme in Egyptian mythology.
- Later Portrayal: Over time, Set’s image became increasingly negative, and he was often portrayed as the embodiment of evil.
Michael Aquino, the founder of the Temple of Set, was significantly influenced by the work of Aleister Crowley.
- Crowley’s Impact: Crowley’s writings and philosophies, particularly his concept of Thelema and his emphasis on individual will and self-deification, had a profound impact on Aquino’s development of Setianism.
- Key Differences: While acknowledging Crowley’s influence, Aquino also sought to differentiate Setianism from Thelema, emphasizing the Egyptian god Set as the central figure of their religion.
While some branches of Satanism, such as Setianism, draw inspiration from ancient Egyptian mythology, it’s inaccurate to say that the “roots” of Satanism come solely from Egypt.
Here’s why:
- Diverse Origins: Satanism is a diverse movement with various branches and interpretations.
- LaVeyan Satanism: Founded by Anton LaVey, this is the most well-known form. It draws heavily on Western esotericism, individualism, and a rejection of traditional Abrahamic religions.
- Theistic Satanism: This branch views Satan as a real, supernatural entity.
- Setianism: This branch, founded by Michael Aquino, draws inspiration from the Egyptian god Set and emphasizes individual autonomy and the pursuit of personal power.
- Influence of Other Factors:
- Western Esotericism: Concepts like individualism, rebellion against authority, and the pursuit of personal power have roots in Western esoteric traditions, including Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and Thelema (developed by Aleister Crowley).
- Social and Cultural Context: The rise of Satanism in the 20th century was also influenced by social and cultural factors, such as the counterculture movement and the growing rejection of traditional religious authority.
The roots of modern Satanism can be traced back to:
- Western Esotericism: Concepts like individualism, rebellion against authority, and the pursuit of personal power have roots in Western esoteric traditions, including Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and Thelema (developed by Aleister Crowley). These traditions often explored themes of self-deification, challenging established religious dogmas, and embracing the darker aspects of human nature.
- Counterculture Movement: The rise of Satanism in the 20th century was significantly influenced by the counterculture movement of the 1960s and 1970s. This movement emphasized individual freedom, social and political rebellion, and a rejection of traditional values and institutions.
- The Founding of the Church of Satan: The establishment of the Church of Satan by Anton LaVey in 1966 marked a significant turning point. LaVey’s philosophy, outlined in “The Satanic Bible,” emphasized individualism, self-indulgence, and a rejection of traditional Abrahamic religions.
Satanism, according to Anton’s teachings, claim it is less worship of a deity, but a way of life. They believe in the idea of the rebel but not in a real devil. The Church of Satan, founded by Anton LaVey, does not worship Satan as a supernatural entity. Instead, “Satan” symbolizes individualism, rebellion against traditional authority, self-indulgence, and embracing one’s own desires and instincts. Key tenets include prioritizing personal autonomy and fulfillment, rejecting traditional morality, and embracing skepticism towards authority and dogma. There is a lot of evidence out there that says otherwise.
In the book, The Serpent and the Savior by Dave and Cheryl Bryan, they recount a dramatic and controversial eye-witness manifestation of one woman’s rescue from the macabre maze of Satanic Ritual Abuse and the Crowleyan “Rituals of Defilement” into “the glorious liberty of the children of God!” (Romans 8:21). Although rigorously denied by the spokes people of the Church of Satan, it gives the only available account of the bizarre and mind-bending events that led up to the death of Anton LeVay, the “Black Pope” who authored The Satanic Bible and was the founder and High Priest of The Church of Satan! Anton’s unexpected demise on Halloween Eve of 1997 during “a spiritual show-down” between occult adepts is the spiritual equivalent of Earp brothers legendary shoot-out with the notorious outlaws at the OK Coral in Tombstone, Arizona many years ago. This sensational and over-whelming victory of a small band of praying Christians stands as an epic testimony to the triumph of The Spirit of God over all the spirits of darkness, of good over evil and of The Church of Jesus Christ over The Church of Satan! As Jesus Himself prophesied 2000 years ago, He is building His Church, and the gates of Hell are crumbling before her! (Matt. 16:18-19).
Another example of the Church of Satan and other witnesses include the videos of the church openly hailing Satan in rituals. Here we see Anton performing a ritual which he says is just “symbology” and not actually worshipping or conjuring up the devil as they say there is no such thing.
Are we this stupid to believe in their word? Like politicians? He says “we are your children” and “we Invoke thee this night”. They call Satan, brother and superior human animal. Yes, you argue that he said, “the wheel of imagination and creativity and the very essence of resourcefulness.” Thus he was just using Satan as an idea rather than a real being. If this were so, why hail, which means to come forth or is an expression used to greet or praise someone or something, often to show admiration or respect? Doesn’t the Bible say Satan is the father of lies? There are other sources that prove Anton was actually worshipping the devil, but this is one example of this religion being used for personal gain and in direct merging with Hollywood.
Even though Christian Bale (Baal), the actor gave his acceptance speech to Satan, should we take his word for it too? That he was joking? Albert Pike dedicated his book Morals and Dogma to Lucifer and the lodge says it’s just a saying and he just meant it as giving thanks to a rebel instead of a deity. Are we to believe them too?
The Satanic Temple has displayed Baphomet statues in Arkansas and Iowa as part of their efforts to promote religious freedom and tolerance, and to challenge the dominance of Christian religious displays in public spaces. The local congregation of The Satanic Temple erected a Baphomet display in the Iowa State Capitol in December 2023, only for it to be destroyed on 14 December by Michael Cassidy, a 35-year-old candidate for the Mississippi House of Representatives and a Christian conservative from Lauderdale, Mississippi. In 2018, the Satanic Temple unveiled a 7.5-foot bronze statue of Baphomet in front of the Arkansas State Capitol building. The statue was displayed for a few hours during a First Amendment rally to protest the Ten Commandments monument on the Capitol grounds. The Satanic Temple argued that the Ten Commandments monument violated freedom of religion rights, and that their statue represented religious tolerance.
The Satanic Temple argues that public spaces should be free from religious messaging, or open to representations of all faiths. I actually agree and am a believer in the separation of church and state just like Thomas Jefferson was trying to do, which he made only a suggestion. Do you really want the Catholic Church to make decisions for us politically? If they can’t get their pedophiles under control, why bother giving them power to change laws? But the Satanic church is using this as a a way to gain access to politics. It’s simple. You want your ten commandments in schools? Then we want our baphomet. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to live in a country that is controlled by God. But since God gave free will, he is not in control, therefore, we rely on the rich to use God for their purposes. We witnessed this with the wars of the German and Italian Papal houses in the dark ages for control of Rome. Religion should be private. This way man can’t use it for gain.
Witchcraft
Witchcraft is incredibly diverse! It’s difficult to give an exact number of “kinds,” as it’s a spectrum of beliefs and practices. Here are some of the major categories and examples:
- Neopaganism: This is a broad umbrella term encompassing many modern nature-based religions.
- Wicca: Perhaps the most well-known, with its core tenets of the Rede (“An it harm none, do what ye will”) and the Wiccan Rule of Three (“Three-fold return” of energy).
- Druidism: Focuses on reverence for nature, ancestors, and community.
- Heathenry: Re-constructions of pre-Christian Germanic and Norse religions.
- Wicca: Perhaps the most well-known, with its core tenets of the Rede (“An it harm none, do what ye will”) and the Wiccan Rule of Three (“Three-fold return” of energy).
- Eclectic Witchcraft: Draws inspiration from various sources, often combining elements of different traditions.
- Folk Magic: Traditional magical practices passed down within families or communities. These can vary greatly depending on the region and cultural background.
- Green Witchcraft: Emphasizes herbalism, nature magic, and environmentalism.
- Sea Witchcraft: Connects with the energy of the ocean and its creatures.
- Kitchen Witchcraft: Focuses on everyday magic within the home, often involving cooking, cleaning, and household rituals.
Some celebrities in Hollywood have publicly expressed an interest in or practice of witchcraft.
- Vanessa Hudgens: Has openly discussed her interest in witchcraft and spirituality.
- Stevie Nicks: Known for her ethereal image, Nicks has often been associated with mystical and witchy themes in her music and style.
While there are hundreds of accounts if not more about politicians and actors openly claiming their love for Jesus Christ, only a few publicly say they are interested in following the devil. This is a huge clue.
Satanism is more secretive than any other religion. There is a reason for this. It’s not widely accepted as other religions. Why is that? Satanism’s lack of widespread acceptance compared to Christianity stems from several factors:
- Historical and Cultural Influence: Christianity has a long and deeply ingrained history in Western civilization, shaping social norms, laws, and cultural values. Satanism, in contrast, is a relatively modern phenomenon with a much smaller following.
- Negative Stereotypes: Satanism is often misrepresented and associated with harmful stereotypes, such as violence, evil, and the occult. These negative portrayals in popular culture and media have contributed to widespread fear and prejudice.
- Misconceptions: Many people hold misconceptions about Satanism, believing it involves devil worship, animal sacrifice, and other harmful practices. These misconceptions are often inaccurate and based on sensationalized portrayals.
- Social Stigma: Openly identifying as a Satanist can carry significant social stigma, leading to discrimination, ostracism, and even fear.
Obviously satanism is still a taboo subject. But it’s growing. There seems to be a movement to make it more accepted. There has been a growing public visibility of certain Satanic organizations in recent years. Here’s how:
- The Satanic Temple: This organization has gained significant media attention through its legal challenges and activism.
- Focus on Religious Freedom: They often advocate for religious pluralism and the separation of church and state, using legal means to challenge government policies they deem to infringe upon religious liberties.
- Publicity Stunts: The Satanic Temple has employed attention-grabbing tactics, such as offering “After-School Satan” clubs in public schools, to raise awareness and challenge the influence of religion in public institutions.
- Increased Media Coverage: The rise of social media and 24/7 news cycles has contributed to increased media coverage of Satanic organizations and their activities. This increased visibility can create the perception of a growing movement.
Important Considerations:
- Visibility vs. Actual Growth: It’s crucial to distinguish between increased public visibility and actual growth in the number of practicing Satanists.
- Diversity within Satanism: The Satanic Temple represents just one of many different perspectives within the broader context of Satanism.
While quantifying the “growth” of Satanism is challenging due to the secretive nature of many groups and the lack of official membership records, here are some observations and examples of diverse perspectives within the Satanic movement:
- The Church of Satan: Founded by Anton LaVey in 1966, this organization emphasizes individualism, self-indulgence, and rejection of traditional morality. They view Satan as a symbol of rebellion against tyranny and conformity.
- Focus: Primarily on individualistic self-worship and embracing earthly pleasures.
- Growth: While difficult to measure, the Church of Satan maintains a significant online presence and continues to attract new members.
- LaVeyan Satanism: This branch draws heavily from the teachings of Anton LaVey and emphasizes individual liberty, self-empowerment, and critical thinking.
- Focus: On embracing one’s own desires and rejecting external authority.
- Growth: LaVeyan Satanism has a dedicated following, with online communities and resources readily available.
- Theistic Satanism: This branch views Satan as a real, supernatural entity worthy of worship.
- Focus: On establishing a personal relationship with Satan, often through ritual and invocation.
- Growth: While less prominent than some other branches, Theistic Satanism has a dedicated following and continues to evolve.
- Satanic Feminism: This perspective emphasizes the empowerment of women within the Satanic context, challenging traditional gender roles and patriarchal structures.
- Focus: On reclaiming the “Satanic” label from male-dominated interpretations and fostering a more inclusive and empowering environment for women.
- Growth: This movement has gained traction in recent years, with online communities and events dedicated to exploring feminist perspectives within Satanism.
Important Considerations:
- Diversity Within Branches: It’s crucial to remember that even within specific branches of Satanism, there is a wide range of beliefs and practices.
- Secrecy and Privacy: Many Satanists choose to keep their beliefs private, making it difficult to assess the overall size and growth of the movement.
Harry Potter
I was in Universal Studios a few weeks ago and noticed the Harry Potter merch and wands. There are sections of the park where you can wave your wand while you say a certain phrase and you can get a treat for it. About half the people there were wearing Harry Potter capes and gowns. I have not done a deep dive of the books nor have I watched any of the movies, but this commercialization of witches is concerning. Not because the franchise itself is evil, but could give people the idea to try witchcraft.
The series undeniably sparked an interest in magic and the supernatural in many young people. This curiosity might have led some to explore real-world spiritual paths, including Wicca and other forms of witchcraft. The internet has made information about various spiritual and religious paths, including witchcraft, more readily available. This increased accessibility may have contributed to a growing interest in these practices. It’s crucial to distinguish between correlation and causation. An increase in interest in witchcraft could be due to various factors, and Harry Potter may be just one of them. Each person’s journey is unique. For some, Harry Potter may have sparked an initial interest, but their path may have evolved in unexpected directions.
The franchise maintains that Harry Potter is simply fantasy and fictional magic. There hasn’t been any news story relating to someone getting hurt by playing around with Harry Potter fiction. Just like there hasn’t been anyone reported trying to drink blood after watching the twilight series. But this doesn’t mean conditioning hasn’t been made. Even AI says Harry Potter has led to some conditioning. Conditioning generally refers to the process of learning associations between stimuli and responses. Here are two main types:
- Classical Conditioning: This involves learning to associate two stimuli.
- Example: Pavlov’s famous experiment where dogs learned to salivate at the sound of a bell because the bell had been repeatedly paired with the presentation of food.
- Example: Pavlov’s famous experiment where dogs learned to salivate at the sound of a bell because the bell had been repeatedly paired with the presentation of food.
- Operant Conditioning: This involves learning to associate a behavior with its consequences.
- Example: If a child receives praise for cleaning their room, they are more likely to repeat that behavior in the future.
- Example: If a child receives praise for cleaning their room, they are more likely to repeat that behavior in the future.
Key Concepts in Conditioning:
- Stimulus: Anything that elicits a response.
- Response: A reaction to a stimulus.
- Reinforcement: Any consequence that strengthens a behavior.
- Punishment: Any consequence that weakens a behavior.
Conditioning plays a significant role in shaping our behavior and understanding how we learn. It has applications in various fields, including psychology, education, and animal training.
Here are some examples of conditioning in Harry Potter, highlighting how it makes magic fun and includes a punishment:
- Classical Conditioning:
- The Patronus Charm: This powerful spell that conjures a protective guardian animal is likely learned through classical conditioning.
- Unconditioned Stimulus: The terrifying Dementors, creatures that drain happiness and cause despair.
- Unconditioned Response: Fear and hopelessness.
- Conditioned Stimulus: Happy memories.
- Conditioned Response: The Patronus charm, conjured by focusing on happy thoughts to combat the Dementors.
- Why it’s fun: The ability to fight back against a terrifying foe by harnessing the power of happy memories adds a layer of emotional depth and personal connection to the magic.
- Operant Conditioning:
- Learning Charms and Spells:
- Positive Reinforcement: Students are praised and rewarded (good grades, teacher approval) for successfully casting spells. This encourages them to practice and improve their magical abilities.
- Punishment: Failing a spell or breaking school rules can lead to detention, loss of House points, or even expulsion. This discourages unwanted behaviors and reinforces the importance of responsible magic use.
- Why it’s fun: The reward system makes learning magic a game. Students strive for mastery, driven by the desire for recognition and the thrill of achieving increasingly complex spells.
How Conditioning Makes Magic Fun:
- Personalization: Conditioning allows for personalized magic. The Patronus Charm is unique to each individual, reflecting their deepest happiness. This personal connection makes the magic feel more powerful and meaningful.
- Challenge and Mastery: Learning magic through operant conditioning involves overcoming challenges and developing skills. The sense of accomplishment that comes with mastering a new spell is incredibly rewarding.
- Emotional Depth: Conditioning adds emotional depth to the magic. The Patronus Charm demonstrates the power of emotions and happy memories in combating darkness, making the magical world richer and more complex.
Some people believe that the Harry Potter series could theoretically lead to an interest in practicing witchcraft. Here’s why:
- Glamorization of Magic: The series presents magic as exciting, powerful, and ultimately positive when used for good. This can make it seem appealing to some individuals.
- Accessibility of Information: The books and films provide detailed descriptions of spells, potions, and magical creatures, which could pique the curiosity of those interested in exploring real-world practices.
- Community: The Harry Potter fandom fosters a sense of community among fans. This can translate into real-world connections for those interested in exploring related interests, including witchcraft.
However, it’s crucial to distinguish between:
- Fantasy: The magic in Harry Potter is fictional.
- Witchcraft: Witchcraft is a diverse set of beliefs and practices that often involve spirituality, nature, and personal empowerment.
But can children differentiate Fantasy from Witchcraft? Whether children can differentiate between the fantasy magic of Harry Potter and real-world witchcraft is a complex issue. Younger children may struggle to distinguish between fiction and reality, while older children generally develop a better understanding. However, individual differences and parental guidance significantly influence this. Open communication and age-appropriate discussions are crucial. Parents can help children understand that Harry Potter’s magic is fictional and that real-world witchcraft is a complex belief system. It’s important to promote critical thinking and create a safe space for children to ask questions and explore their thoughts. Ultimately, parental judgment and informed decisions are key when navigating this topic with children.
When I was in Universal Studios, I saw thousands of kids wearing witchcraft attire and waving wands eliciting a response, reacting to a stimulus and reinforcing that strength in their behavior and if they got their spell wrong, the punishment was they received nothing. I saw many children including teenagers melt down for doing something wrong when practicing this quote on quote fantasy. If witchcraft is real, and many believe it is, then there is no doubt in my mind that this franchise is enabling and encouraging children to gravitate towards it. And the parents were clueless to the thought that one day their child could open up a demonic attachment just by playing around with fantasy. 200 years ago, Harry Potter would be considered satanism and those creators would be burned at the stake.
All of the examples of celebrities that were or are involved in the occult are just the ones I remember from my research. You would not have found this information using AI unless you poked at it to reveal the truth. This leads to speculation that the franchise has an invested interest in making sure it is not demonized, pun intended. When a billion dollar idea is in it’s mature state, protection of the investment is at an all time high and it wouldn’t surprise me that the makers of AI that offer a free censored version are being approach with legal documentation to make sure it’s interests are shown in a positive light or as I have found in the fantasy category.
I remember back in High School in the 90’s when the only ones interested in horror shows were a small crowd of artists and it was not mainstream. The Church of Satan and other entities must be thrilled about attendance now due to the wildly successful Harry Potter franchise and the coming numbers. TikTok, although being switched to Lemon8, has a huge Harry Potter following and there are hundreds of thousands of channels practicing witchcraft online via videos. Some would say this is just a coincidence and the naturally progression of society to lean towards the unexplained. This may be true, but if demonology exists, and I have enough proof myself it does, then the consequences of such a movement could be absolutely drastic in the coming generations.
My research on Covens, which is a group of witches coming together under a common belief system, shows there are hundreds of thousands of these groups inside the US. Since they have a secretive nature like Freemasonry, it is hard to capture the real data. This behavior has often led to satantic ritual abuse, which AI says is extremely rare and largely unsubstantiated. Yet we can prove the Franklin Coverup in the 1980’s really happened and can prove some shadow entity covered it up. This was the largest known case of SRA in the history of the United States involving prominent politicians and priests. This led to the media cover up called The Satanic Panic: In the 1980s and 1990s, there was a period of intense public fear and hysteria surrounding satanic ritual abuse. Numerous allegations surfaced, often involving child abuse and occult practices. However, most of these claims were later found to be unsubstantiated or based on flawed evidence.
Blowback means a process in which gases expand or travel in a direction opposite to the usual one, especially through escape of pressure or delayed combustion. All of this Satanic conditioning will trigger an explosion. There is no doubt in my mind that if this nonchalant way of playing with magic continues, we will see an expansion of satanism through many forms using witchcraft as the gateway drug. When the practitioner gets rewarded with a spell, word gets out and satanism isn’t as taboo as it once was thus parents have no control now than they once did during the church age.
